About the event
Cause Oregon, in partnership with Northeast Oregon Economic Development District, is offering a comprehensive series of seminars this summer to sharpen the skills of nonprofit boards and staff. Whether you're new to the sector or a seasoned professional, the series will provide practical tools for your work.
Classes are stand-alone modules and also build a nonprofit toolkit sequentially. Seating is limited; pre-registration is required. Fees are not refundable but can be credited for future sessions.

PR for Your Cause 8:30-10:00AM
Getting your story in front of people who care is a critical component of fundraising and development. Positive PR raises awareness of your organization, enhances your reputation, builds stakeholder loyalty, and attracts investment in your cause. In this session, we'll explore a variety of ways to promote your work through print and digital media. Participants will leave with a toolbox to build an attractive and compelling public relations strategy.

Do you have as many volunteers as you need? Are your volunteers energetic, loyal, dependable and skilled? Volunteers are unpaid staff for nonprofits and as such, present unique challenges with regards to personnel management. In this session, we'll explore recruitment tactics for attracting and retaining the most engaged volunteers. We'll also cover the characteristics of stellar volunteer programs and ways to maximize their contributions to our organizations.
